What is an Exercise Physiologist
An Exercise Physiologist is a university-trained professional specialising in designing movement therapies and exercise programs for the prevention and/or management of complex medical conditions, injury rehabilitation, physical conditioning and improving sports performance. An Accredited Exercise Physiologist can help treat and manage the following conditions:
· Cardiovascular disease · Musculoskeletal injury and pain management · Obesity · Cancer · Depression and other mental health conditions · Arthritis and Osteoporosis · Diabetes and Pre Diabetes · Back and Neck Pain · Occupational Injury · Chronic respiratory diseases such as COPD · Neurological disorders · Difficulty maintaining motivation and adherence · Physical restrictions or mobility issues Many of these conditions meet the eligibility requirements to allow for rebates through Medicare and private health funds, whilst full funding is available through DVA, CTP and WorkCover NSW/QLD. Who will I meet through Tweed Exercise Physiology
Todd Robinson
Owner/operator of Tweed Exercise Physiology. He holds a double degree in Exercise Science and Nutrition and has completed further studies in Behaviour Change Counselling and Horticultural Therapy. With well over a decade of experience, he has developed a strong empathy for the physical and mental challenges, that people from a broad range of ages and backgrounds may face. To achieve positive outcomes Todd works closely with each individual, and focuses on their unique motivators to achieve good health. Sessions aim to design and implement personalised programs to address pre-existing barriers to achieve improved health and well being. He believes this is a key factor for successful health promotion and is passionate about empowering people with the knowledge and skills to develop a sustainable healthy lifestyle. Todd has worked with organisations such as Lung Foundation, Cancer Council, Headspace, Bugalwena Indigenous Health and numerous injury rehabilitation and preventative health organisations.
