The initial consultation at Tweed Exercise Physiology will be to find out more about you, assess your condition, capacity and goals. This allows us to develop a realistic program to assist you to manage your condition, education to empower you to understand what we are doing, and strategies to maintain the program as part of your healthier lifestyle. Injury Rehab and Pain Management
Assessing the potential causes of pain/dysfunction through movement screens and review of medical history. This can allow for suitable exercise/movement therapies to help you manage your recovery through rehabilitation and/or long-term management. Experienced in WorkCover, Income Protection and other occupational rehabilitation focused programs.

Firstly we want to fully understand the individual’s goals. Following this we can work in conjunction with the Support Coordinator to develop a tailored program to meet the specific needs of the individual.
Exercise Physiology services can be utilised in a broad range of ways dependent on the individual’s needs and goals. The following list of conditions are an example of whom may benefit from Exercise Physiology:

If you would like to participate in a program with Tweed Exercise Physiology to improve your function and work towards your goals, then please register with the NDIS and talk to a Support Coordinator/Planner.
There are specific criteria in terms of the client’s ability to access the services under the NDIS. If you wish to become a participant in the NDIS, you must complete an Access Request Form, which is available by contacting the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) on: 1800 800 110.

Medicare
- Exercise Physiology Services organised by your GP as part of an Enhance Primary Care (EPC) plan attract a rebate from Medicare. There are eligibility restrictions, so talk to your GP as you will need a Chronic Disease Management Plan or EPC referral. You will then be entitled to five Allied Health Services per calendar year. Exercise Physiology may be one or more of these services.
- Type 2 Diabetes patients have an extra eight Exercise Physiology Group Services per calendar year, which are funded by Medicare. You will need to have a GP management plan in place and have a referral form from your GP.
Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA)
- Veterans may be able to access exercise physiology services. Access to these services requires a referral form from your general practitioner (D904). These sessions are bulk billed, resulting in no cost to you. More information can be obtained from your GP, or at the Department of Veteran Affairs website.
Private Health Insurance
- Many private health funds offer rebates for exercise physiology services to their members. These include: Australian Unity, Medibank, NIB, Teacher’s Federation, HBF, AHM, HCF and Reserve Bank. The amount of rebate depends upon the individual’s health fund and their level of cover. Please contact your health fund to discuss rebates, and feel free to get in contact if you requirement assistance.
Weight Loss Programs
- Looking to lose weight by taking a healthy approach? We don't offer rapid weight loss or yoyo diets. Our focus is on providing you with the knowledge and skills to modify your lifestyle and eating habits to an enjoyable and sustainable pattern. This will allow you to maintain your weight loss goals and to enjoy a long term healthy life style. Our weight loss programs include:
• Comprehensive assessment of lifestyle, dietary habits and physical capacity.
• Assessment of risk factors associated with heart disease, diabetes and other chronic disease.
• Address any potential barriers that may exist by developing strategies to overcome.
• Counselling to explain exercise, dietary principles and increase motivation.

Work Cover & Injury Rehabilitation
- We are registered to provide injury rehabilitation services through WorkCover in both NSW and QLD. Fees are covered if you are an injured worker, have a referral from your treating GP and your worker's compensation liability has been accepted.

Yoga
Yoga for individual or small group sessions with certified yoga teacher Zoe Robinson from One Love Family Yoga. Zoe has vast experience in teaching a broad range of ages and abilities. She also has completed additional training in Kids Yoga, Yoga for Pregnancy and Partner Yoga. Classes available in Cabarita Beach or can provide mobile service. Surfing & Sport Specific Training
Specific conditioning programs to help you reach new levels and improve your performance. Sessions may include movement analysis, injury prevention focus, power taping, sports psychology and sport specific training programs.
